Hooray! Desperate Eva Got Engaged!

'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria and basketball star Tony Parker met in November 2004. Despite the age gap that separated them (she is 31 while he's 24), they hit it off instantly and their love became known to everybody thanks to their many public displays of affection.

In September this year, the couple went through a rougher period and called it quits for a while. Spending that much time apart and leading apparently separate lives was taking its toll on their romance and, after discussing the matter duly, the two decided to take a break.

Last month, Eva and Tony got back again and spent the most romantic holiday in France, rekindling their love. It now seems that this was just what they needed, because almost immediately Tony mustered the courage and popped the big question to Eva... and she said yes, of course.



Via a written statement, Longoria's representative, Liza Anderson, confirmed the happy news. 'Tony flew into Los Angeles after his game and surprised Eva at her home after she got off work. The proposal was romantic and perfect. The couple plans to wed in France in the summer of 2007 in what they describe as a big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends.', the publicist announced.

Until now, neither Eva nor Tony made any comments on their own about their future plans. But, knowing the petite actress and her love to speak her mind on almost anything, some remarks or details about the wedding ceremony are expected pretty soon.
