Lindsay Claims Innocence and We Believe Her

Ever since Lindsay Lohan was arrested, there has been nothing but speculation and rumors and, in short, madness all over the Internet and in the media. Questions like 'Where is she?', 'What will happen to her career?', 'Is she back in rehab?' or 'Will she get jail time?' became such burning issues that no one really cared about whether she was as troubled and ill as some initial reports suggested.

Finally, Lindsay's lawyer issued a statement yesterday that basically told us nothing new. Instead, it confirmed that the freckled one is indeed battling a serious addiction which, apparently, she didn't take enough measures to overcome. Anyway, what's done is done. Or not so, if you ask Lindsay. Well, you can't actually do that since no one knows her whereabouts these days or how much time she will spend in hiding before coming clean about her past errors.

And coming clean is the last thing that LiLo wants. Or assuming responsibility for two DUI charges in as many months. For those who have not been a part of the whole Lindsay-busted-madness, she was arrested two days ago, after the woman in the car Lohan was chasing called the police, in fear for her life. When the officers asked the actress to step out of the car, they saw on the spot that she was heavily intoxicated; she failed two sobriety tests and was taken to the police station where, surprise, surprise!, they found an unspecified amount of cocaine in the pockets of her pants. She was charged with four counts and released on bail.

As stupid as this might seem, Lindsay is now trying to pull that old trick of 'Oh, what is this white powder doing in my purse? It's not mine!', probably actually hoping that someone (preferably the judge she's scheduled to see this August) will believe her that she's telling the truth. In a statement to 'Access Hollywood', Lindsay says: Yes. 'I am innocent... did not do drugs they're not mine. I was almost hit by my assistant Tarin's mom. I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy.' We believe you, Lindsay!

And, to be honest, how could one NOT believe her? It's obvious that the girl has been framed – and that's why one of her friends is now telling the media that, right before the arrest LiLo switched pants with some unnamed girl (maybe because she can't afford a new pair... ahem). It's a conspiracy to bring her down and the only way to uncover it is if everybody trusts her when she says the drugs were not hers. It's exactly like those times when momma starts cleaning up your room and finds that dusty stack of porn under the bed and you go all like 'They're for a school project I'm working on right now, mom!'. The only diff is that I don't know how many cases there are in which a porn mag was involved in a hit-and-run because it got drunk behind the wheel. But I bet there are at least a gazillion a year!
