Lindsay Lohan May Screw the System Yet Again!

In case you were one of the many justice-seeking souls wondering what was going to happen to former-princess-gone-bad Lindsay Lohan, and in case you (like me) were hoping in vain to see some heavy jail time dealt to her, well, we're going to find this one extremely disappointing. There's a very good chance our little star will walk free, as it's very likely that the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office will choose not to file felony charges against her in connection with her two previous arrests for DUI, one in Beverly Hills and one a week later in Santa Monica. As for the charges connected to the cocaine, the police found on her second arrest, rumor has it that they're not going to be charged either. So that just leaves two misdemeanor DUI charges that could mean an impressive minimum of...four days in prison for Lohan. Gee, I really wonder how she's gonna handle that.

I admit I find myself on that list of very naïve people who every time the police picks up another rowdy, boozed and drugged up celebrity off the streets or from behind the wheel (the likes of which you're way too familiar with, and let me just mention Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton and I rest my case) actually believe that they will suffer the full consequences of their actions. That there will be someone who will consider making an example out of them and finally making them pay as much as they deserve, in all ways possible. But as I said, the operative word here is "naïve", which works well in Lindsay's case. The former star's big-time attorney Blair Birk has worked his magic again, and with rumors of a plea bargain, that may mean that Lohan doesn't even have to show her face at the arraignment scheduled this Friday.

So looks like Li-Lo can continue to enjoy Camp Rehab at the Utah facility where she's been photographed many times but which she's officially not even attending. And in between the hikes and the rafting and the jogs and pedicures and massages and the famous 12-step road to Paradise, she'll have a flashback that will go something like "was there ever a chance that I may go to jail?"; and she'll shudder and shrug and turn in bed and mutter to herself "of course not" and that will be the end of it. So, once again, Lindsay's lucky star shines somewhere up there and I have to add another frustration to my growing list – that I'll never get to see how Li-Lo looks in bright orange.
