Pamela Retires. The End of an Era

For those of you who don't know, Pamela Anderson, the one and only 'Baywatch' babe as far as the world's concerned, has changed careers. Yes, that is right: Pammy is no longer taking up acting gigs – she is now a magician's assistant. Of course, there is not that much of a difference from her gigs so far since this one too, just like acting and posing, implies a skimpy bathing suit and lots and lots of exposed flesh. In April this year, Pamela teamed up with famed magician Hans Klok for a couple of Vegas shows in which she would play the part of the 'sexy assistant'. Because the shows went really well and they performed each night in front of a packed house, the bombshells and bitter PETA campaigner agreed to stay on for another season that ends in December 2007. But, apparently, there's more to this job than just having some good ol' fun, because Miss Anderson just announced that she will quit television and movies altogether.
Many are those who know Pamela only from her many 'Playboy' spreads and, trust me, if you too are one of them, you did not miss a thing. But there are few (me included) who have also seen her other works – namely, movies and television series. The truth is, Pamela Anderson is not an actress: she is famous for her body and she should have stuck to showing it whenever she was given the chance. But the 'all I wanna do is act' syndrome also affected her and the result can be seen in such catastrophic moments of cinematography and television industry as 'Barb Wire', 'VIP' and, her latest, 'Blonde and Blonder'. Good thing that Pammy too eventually realized that acting is not an option for her and that she would be much better off if she just stood there and looked pretty, as her current job requires. Here's what she had to say about her future, in a post from her official webpage: 'I love theater. My entrance broke on stage tonight. Crazy. But those are the moments. I'm having best time. I want to be in Vegas forever. So glamorous. I'm rehearsing another illusion tonight. I'm definitively staying till December. Then who knows. No more TV or film. This is what I love doing. It's so over the top.' Praise the Lord! Don't go hating on me, I have nothing against seeing Pamela undressing for the cover of one magazine or another, but it's a totally different thing when she has to say a line or two straight into the camera. In fact, the only 'movie' with her that I would watch anytime of day is the one she did with Tommy Lee. You know, the one that got 'stolen' and 'leaked' on the Internet to the media, and that had her with her mouth 'full' most of the time. So, it's best if she just sticks to magic.
