Halle Berry Is Expecting Her First Baby

After several weeks of speculation, Halle Berry exclusively confirmed for Access Hollywood and Nancy O'Dell that she is indeed pregnant. This is extremely good news for the 41-year old actress who has long admitted to her great love for children and her desire to have one of her own. Berry declared that that she is three months pregnant and that the father of her baby is her boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

"Yes, I am three months pregnant! Gabriel and I are beyond excited, and I’ve waited a long time for this moment in life. Now the next seven months will be the longest of my life!" she wrote in an email to O'Dell. I'm not entirely sure whether her maths sucks or she actually believes babies are born after ten instead of nine months – or maybe she was just too excited. The fact is, it is good news for the Oscar winning actress, who admitted to starting fertility treatment in February despite initially stating that if she were unable to conceive naturally, she would consider adopting a child rather than going for the in vitro.

"Not that there’s not more to accomplish, but I think I arrived at a point in life that I realized I needed more to get me up in the morning", the actress declared during a TV interview in April this year. "More than going to a new movie set. (...) I need something even more profound than that, and that’s family. And that’s children", Halle had stated. "I need that like the air to breathe these days and I’m ready. I’m at a point where I’m really, really ready".

Throughout her pregnancy, the actress – who is preparing for the launch of her new film "Things We Lost In The Fire" (out on Octomber 26th) – will be closely monitored by a doctor specialized in high-risk pregnancies. Halle was also due to start filming "Tulia" in October, for which she was due to reunite with her "Monster's Ball" co-star Billy Bob Thornton, but the shooting will reportedly be postponed. The actress' age is not the doctors' only concern, as she is also a diabetic, something that may have a negative impact on the pregnancy. Berry is due on Valentine's Day next year – which makes for a very nice present for her and her boyfriend.
