Nicole Kidman's Next Movie – A Box Office Flop?

We've been seeing a lot of Nicole Kidman lately. The Australian actress has managed to have an impressive run in the past year: she has starred in the science fiction movie "The Invasion", played opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jack Black in Noah Baumbach's comedy-drama "Margot at the Wedding", provided her voice for the animated movie "Happy Feet" and currently working on the film adaptation of the first part of the "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Philip Pullman, in which she plays the luscious but evil Mrs. Coulter.

But it looks like the latter of Nicole's projects is widely anticipated to be a box-office flop. A source told the New York Post newspaper that "people working on the movie say it is just plain bad". Insiders claim the "The Golden Compass" – the first part of a highly acclaimed trilogy by British author Philip Pullman, which is set for release in December – contains too much computer-generated imagery and problems have arisen over the talking polar bear. A representative for New Line Cinema (which invested a staggering $175 million into the project) dismissed the rumors and stated: "That's bulls**t".

However, her loaded agenda hasn't prevented Nicole from enjoying her personal life to the full. The 40-year-old actress, who has usually been very guarded in what concerns her private life, has recently revealed that, as a child, she was so desperate to find her Prince Charming that she would make-believe she was being wooed. "I yearned for it, and I imagined it, and I started playing roles where I was in love", Nicole stated for the Interview magazine. And apparently, her wish came true. After a failed marriage with the equally famous Tom Cruise, Kidman claims she has finally found true love with her husband, country singer Keith Urban.

"My husband and I are committed to each other and deeply in love. That's how I would put it. We're working on staying in that place, and hopefully we will for the rest of our lives". However, the beautiful Australian actress said she will never admit that she is truly happy, because marriage is, in her own words, "complicated and beautiful". "I don't ever say I'm happy", Nicole added. "Partly because interviews are done in advance and you never know where something's going. People's lives together are complicated and beautiful and that's what they should stay. They're very quiet. Complicatedly quiet. They don't need to be broadcast".
