Beyonce Turns Her Back to the Media

We might think that Beyonce is living in a world where she can have almost anything that her heart desires but we should also realize that she is, in fact, living behind glass walls. The media intrusion on her life and the amount of gratuitous comments at her expense are often so carried beyond any limit that we could safely say that there are few other female celebrities who get the same 'special treatment'.

Have you ever wondered how that must be like? Well, just in case you have, Beyonce is here to present you with the answer. Of course, she's not actually here (as in, 'with me') but in the latest issue of 'Vibe' magazine, with a brand new interview in which she talks, for the first time, about the way in which what is being written and said about her affects her, on a personal level.

Of course, this is not the first time that a celebrity complains about the gossip and the rumors that are daily forged around their private lives or their career. Some of them have even taken it upon themselves to declare war to all Internet celebrity bloggers and tabloids. So far, none of them (either media outlet or celebrity) has come out the winner. But it is surprising to see that even Beyonce is not immune to this kind of treatment, simply because she always manages to send off this very strong, independent, I-don't-actually-give-a-rat's-a*s image of herself to the public.



And, yet, the diva says that, for quite a while now, she has stopped tuning in on the radio or using her computer, in order to avoid coming into contact with exactly this kind of unfounded rumors. 'Either you're gonna turn to other things to take away the pain you feel, or you have to deal with it and move on. If it's something about my sister or my nephew or it's something evil, then yes, I'm upset. I wanna kill somebody. If it's a rumor that's vindictive, or something harmful, or something everybody believes that is completely not true, then it's frustrating because there's nothing you can do about it. If someone misquotes you, or says some complete lie, and then they go back and retract that, people still don't believe you didn't say it. So sometimes it hurts. Sometimes I wanna cry. Sometimes I wanna scream. Sometimes I wanna curse people out', Beyonce tells the mag.

Still, no matter how much she tries to avoid reading nasty stuff about herself, she is completely aware that this is something that comes with the territory, with being a star. 'Everybody messes with celebrities. At a point, you just have to decide if you really want it. If you do, you have to have a tough skin. And after you get a certain amount of success, you have no choice.', she explained.

Unfortunately, no one told Beyonce that people mostly pick on her because they're jealous and they have little to speculate on in her private life (a la Paris, Lindsay and Pamela Anderson). This, too, comes with the turf.
