UPDATE: Britney's Second Live Gig 'Disappointing'
15 November, 2007
Last night, Britney continued the mini-tour she embarked on with her dancers under the name of M+Ms, this time hitting the House of Blues in Anaheim. Apparently, according to various reports, this second surprise gig was received worse than the previous one in San Diego. I say it's all a matter of taste and perspective. We could either take this tour as a sign of determination from her part of getting back in the saddle, and some sort of testing the waters before moving on to bigger gigs or simply as a desperate cry of attention. If you ask her fans, it is one of the first two but, were you to query the music critics about it, they would definitely vouch it's the latter. Be that as it may, out of the 1000 people who attended the 14-minute performance in San Diego, more than half were pleased with what they saw on stage. They called her sexy dance routine 'great', referring to this mini comeback in terms of 'awesome', 'ass-kicking' and 'spectacular'. However, those who went inside the club with their hopes too high, praying to see something similar to the Britney of four years ago (if not quite the real thing), were disappointed. These are the ones who said they paid too much money for 14 minutes to watch a woman who lip-synched on five of her old tracks, repeating the same moves as ever and who, to top it all, was dressed like a slut.
After the 14-minute set, Britney was escorted to her bus and off she went. 'Thanks everyone for coming' were the only words that came out of her mouth the whole time she stayed there. Literally. With that, the whole comeback machine was set in motion and the former Princess of Pop went ahead with the schedule, moving to Anaheim for yet another performance.
Even more, Britney also apparently made fun of her latest rehab stint while still on stage: 'while lip-synching to the song "Toxic" - "I need a hit, baby give me it" - Britney did the cocaine move, like putting her finger to her nose pretending she was doing a bump of coke and then she gave a cheeky smile', another disappointed member of the audience claims. However, there still are many Britney fans who say that the second show was as great as the first one and the clearest of all clear signs that she's on her way to a groundbreaking comeback. As with everything in life (without getting too philosophical), this mini-tour that Brit Brit is currently on is two-sided. And the best part is that you can decide for yourselves what it really is like, without being told what to believe by someone else. Below is a short clip from Britney's San Diego gig. Watch it and stay tuned here for more. Posted by admin at 03:30 PM | View: (286) |
